Awkward Turtle

Catherine and MeJanessa and Alaina

About a year and a half (I think) ago, us four friends started something called the awkward turtles. I guess you could say it's our own little personal club. There were tons of inside jokes involved with it. I'm sure there still are. We would sit around telling funny, awkward stories that would happen to us....speaking of which, I have one that you guys would get a kick out of!

The other day I was at work and we had just finished so we were going to put all of our stuff back in the janitors closet (which just happens to be located in the boys bathroom). Well there is usually never anybody in there when we get done with work. So like usual, I walked right in. As I was reaching the closet, I see out of the corner of my eye, a guy standing at the urinal. I started laughing to myself. The girl I work with was right behind me and didn't even notice. We just stood in the closet waiting for him to finish. When my boss and the other kid I work with came in the guy realized that there were girls that had walked in. Haha! I could hear him say to my boss, "Oh well, they have brothers, right?" My boss came in and he was just a laughin. It was pretty funny, but still kinda awkward. My boss said that the really funny thing was that the guy was BRIGHT red and we weren't really embarrased at all. And he still was laughing about it the next day. HAHA! Great times!

Anywho, now that the train is back on track....I forgot where I was going with this. Oh ya...each of us have a little turtle keychain that reminds us of our turtley friends. And the whole reason I even thought of this post was because of this picture that Alaina took in Mexico. (I hope you don't mind I borrowed it)

She said that fact that he is blurry in the picture makes him even more awkard, eh heh. Well Alaina tagged all of us in this picture and I remembered all the good times. Hopefully there will be many more good times with the four awkward turtles. Love ya guys!!!!

Apartment

On Saturday Ben and I went and looked at an apartment we had found in the newspaper. When we got there, Ben happened to know the people that were showing us the place, which I think just happened to be a big bonus. The person that actually owns the place lives in New Mexico right now so his mom manages it for him. They told us that there was another person coming to look at it later that day, but we had a pretty good chance of getting it because her son knew these other people and didn't want to rent to them. She told us that we would know by the middle of this week. Well, the other people never showed up to look at it (one benefit of knowing the people renting it).
Yesterday we got a text from this lady's other son (that Ben is friends with) and he told us we got the apartment. It's $450 a month and that includes all the utilities. It's super, super tiny but for now it works and fits in our budget. We might have to get a storage bay for all our stuff that won't fit in there. There is some storage there, but I'm not sure how much. We are super excited for it! Ben was so cute yesterday when he read the text. We had just gotten to his house. We got out of the car and he ran over to me and picked me up and started spinning me around. We don't have any pictures right now, but I will post some another time.

Boost of Motivation

The semester is more than half over and there are only five weeks left. I think I have hit a brick wall. I am having such a hard time motivating myself to do school work. This would be a lot easier if I actually had a class I had to go too. But instead, I just sit here staring at my text book, and staring at the computer. Maybe I'm sick of being on the computer all day with nothing to do but homework? Maybe I should start going to the library everyday to do school work. Maybe that will add some motivation cause I won't be able to leave until I'm done. The library workers would probably start thinking that I live there or something. I'm already there once a week. I think I might try that...starting next week. But than that means I still gotta find the motivation to finish all my assignments from this week. I feel like I have gotten nothing done at all. I know I've done homework, but with all the time that goes by and how little is done at the end of the day is starting to get a little discouraging. Maybe because it's just an endless cycle of working on it. I just gotta somehow get through the next five weeks and then I won't have to deal with the stress of school for about 3 1/2 months, and it will allow me to focus on other, more important things. Cause right now I could really care less about how proteins are made, or the Human Genome Project and the process of gene therapy.
