Battle Wounds

Yesterday my goal for the day was to get the whole kitchen cleaned and get some laundry washed and put away, before I had to go visiting teaching and to a wedding reception. I was doing pretty good. I had some laundry ready to put away, I was just waiting 'til I had the dishes done because I was going to sweep and mop once the laundry was put away. Well all I had left to do with the dishes was the glass cups. I was washing one and it slipped out of my hand, shattered, and somehow cut me. I was so shocked at what had just happened I didn't even realize I was cut until I saw the blood all over the sink. I looked down and I had four pretty deep cuts. I didn't know if they were bad enough to need stitches so I called Ben at work and he left to come see. When he wasn't sure either, we drove to the medical clinic and had a nurse look at it to see if I needed stitches. Luckily, I didn't need them. I've never had stitches before, and I sure as heck didn't want them. But the nurse was pretty shocked to see how cut up my fingers were. I was grateful that Ben left work to come take care of me. Before he went back, he cleaned up all the glass and the blood. Now, needless to say, that since three of my fingers on my right hand are useless at the moment, I can't do much of anything. Hopefully they heal quickly, and that they start hurting with every little thing that I do. We are very grateful that it wasn't worse.

Ouch! When Tiff and Jason were at my house last New Years, they were having company for dinner and I was cutting vegetables, and I sliced my finger super badly. I'd never had stitches before either. I decided not to go to the doc though, I could get it to stop bleeding with lots of pressure. I probably should have had stitches though, because I could see the blood on the other side of my finger, so I cut the underneath side, and I could see the blood at the finger nail side. I basically cut all the way through to my finger nails on the edges where they curve. Who knows if that makes any sense, but I'm glad you're okay! How's the baby growing going? Oh, and post pics of your new place, I'd love to see!

Whew about the stitches, but what a way to get out of dishes. You probably could have just asked Ben to do them instead of going to the extreme.
